In terms of electrification, directly heated structured packings are a viable option. They offer the advantage of providing energy where it is required, thereby positively impacting the separation process and helping to minimize heat loss. Using CO2 desorption from aqueous MEA solution as an exemplary process, different heating strategies are compared.

Abstract NOx emissions from gas boilers severely impact the environment, and flue gas recirculation (FGR) technology can effectively reduce such emissions, yet the effects of different FGR rates on combustion performance and NOx formation remain unclear. This study thus used numerical simulation (via ANSYS Fluent, adopting the realizable k‐ε turbulence

Analysis of rail corrugation in cornering
Rail corrugation in cornering is examined via a non-linear time-domain model of a bogie cornering. The model is computationally fast due to a modal description of a wheelset that includes bending and twisting modes of its axle as well as flexing of wheel

Digital and Gender Attributes of IC in Sustainability Reporting of Italian Firms
ABSTRACT Italian listed enterprises increasingly rely on intellectual capital (IC) to enhance competitiveness and sustainability performance. As IC, comprising human, structural, and relational capital, is rarely recognised in financial statements due to the lack of standardised frameworks, its disclosure has gained relevance in sustainability ...

Aluminum‐enhanced afterburning renders AE explosives more hazardous than conventional ones. Corrugated steel linings reduce far‐field AE blast overpressure by ~50% through wave reflection and dissipation. The developed model accurately predicts peak pressure (<10% error) and arrival time (<3% error), supporting protective design.

A hypothesis on a wavelength fixing mechanism of rail corrugation
The mechanism of rail corrugation is analysed by a mathematical model in which a rail is represented as an infinite beam and a bogie as two point masses. The contact forces and the rate of increase in corrugation amplitude are calculated.

Biophysical processes of morphogenesis in lizard lungs
Abstract Background The lungs of squamate reptiles (lizards and snakes) are highly diverse, exhibiting single chambers, multiple chambers, transitional forms with two to three chambers, along with a suite of other anatomical features, including finger‐like epithelial projections into the body cavity known as diverticulae.
