Inhomogeneous superconductivity in the presence of time-reversal symmetry
We propose a new type of non-uniform condensate state in the presence of time-reversal symmetry. The underlying platform of this state is a corrugated honeycomb lattice which exhibits an inhomogeneous pseudo magnetic field.

The Cassie-Wenzel transition of fluids on nanostructured substrates: Macroscopic force balance versus microscopic density-functional theory [PDF]
Classical density functional theory is applied to investigate the validity of a phenomenological force-balance description of the stability of the Cassie state of liquids on substrates with nanoscale corrugation.

Crystal Engineering of Reticular Materials for Gas‐ and Liquid‐Phase Hydrocarbon Separation
Crystal engineering enables systematic study of structure/function relationships as exemplified by pore engineering of reticular sorbents, including porous coordination networks and covalent organic frameworks. This review assesses such studies applied across the full scope of industrially relevant hydrocarbon separations to provide insight into how ...

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Lateral projection as a possible explanation of the nontrivial boundary dependence of the Casimir force [PDF]
We find the lateral projection of the Casimir force for a configuration of a sphere above a corrugated plate. This force tends to change the sphere position in the direction of a nearest corrugation maximum.

3D Elastomeric Kirigami for Passively Stretchable Fully Soft Vacuum‐Powered Artificial Muscles
The creation of purely soft, passively stretchable artificial muscles has long been a hot topic in robotics research. Here, we present a design approach involving the extension of 2D kirigami to 3D elastomeric kirigami structures. In a biomimetic demonstration of the human upper arm, this approach successfully simulated the driving mechanism ...

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF SHEET METAL FORMING: THE CORRUGATION EFFECT
A new approach to solving the problem of the sheet-flange corrugation in the process of forming cylindrical sheet-metal elements is presented. A brief characteristic of the dynamic central-difference method is given.

Short pitch corrugation has been a problem for railways worldwide over one century. In this paper, a parametric investigation of fastenings is conducted to understand the corrugation formation mechanism and gain insights into corrugation mitigation.

Examining Style in Virgin Branch Corrugated Ceramics
In this article, we examine variation in the corrugation styles of ceramics from the Virgin Branch Puebloan culture. These ceramics were recovered from two regions: the Moapa Valley of southern Nevada and the Mt. Dellenbaugh area of northwestern Arizona.

Water scarcity poses a critical threat to global food security. A low‐power, flexible electromagnetic actuator is presented for smart drip irrigation systems. The device achieves precise, wide‐range flow modulation (0.05–5.8 mL/min) in response to real‐time plant demands, reducing water consumption compared to conventional flood irrigation.
