Re-thinking the classification of corticioid fungi

Mycological Research, 2007
Corticioid fungi are basidiomycetes with effused basidiomata, a smooth, merulioid or hydnoid hymenophore, and holobasidia. These fungi used to be classified as a single family, Corticiaceae, but molecular phylogenetic analyses have shown that corticioid fungi are distributed among all major clades within Agaricomycetes.

Corticioid Fungi from Brunei Darussalam

Kew Bulletin, 1998
Thirty two species of corticioid fungi (Basidiomycota) are recorded from Brunei Darussalam, belonging to the Hericiales, Hymenochaetales, Lachnocladiales, and Stereales sensu lato. The genera Pileodon and Scopulodontia (Stereales) are described as new, to accommodate the new species Pileodon megaspora and Scopulodontia loricata.

Parenthesome structure of some corticioid fungi

Mycological Research, 2005
The parenthesome structure of seven corticioid species, traditionally referred to the family Corticiaceae (Basidiomycota), were studied in order to better understand their taxonomic position: Phanerochaete velutina, Phlebia radiata, P. rufa, Rhizochaete americana (syn. Ceraceomyces americana), R. brunnea, R. filamentosa (syn. Phanerochaete filamentosa)

Three new species of corticioid fungi with hyphal pegs

Mycologia, 2010
Dendrodontia taiwaniana, Epithele cylindricosterigmata and E. lutea are described and illustrated as new species. Dendrodontia taiwaniana is similar to D. bicolor in having a similar hymenial surface and hyphal system, but the former has smaller basidia and basidiospores and lacks dendrohyphidia. Epithele cylindricosterigmata resembles E.
