Rare case of Corynebacterium striatum septic arthritis [PDF]
Corynebacterium species are aerobic, Gram-positive bacilli that are commensal organisms of skin and mucosal membranes. Although its pathogenicity is well established, Corynebacterium striatum is frequently isolated in cultures and generally regarded as a contaminant. Rarely, this bacterium causes septic arthritis.

ABSTRACT Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) is a rare, tobacco‐associated vasculitis that primarily affects the distal extremities of young males. In advanced stages, it often leads to chronic limb ischemia with ischemic ulceration, culminating in amputation. Data on risk factors for reamputation in this population remain limited.

A case of catheter related bloodstream infection by Corynebacterium striatum
C. striatum is an innocuous inhabitant of the normal human epithelial and mucosal surfaces. The C. striatum ´s thogenic potential is increasingly recognized in our time.We present a rare case of CRBSI by C. striatum in a 57-yr-old male patient. The patient suffered from many basic diseases and was admitted to hospital of shock. The patient finally died ...

Lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) are a leading cause of critical illness and mortality. The lung microbiome represents an important reservoir for the exchange of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). The pathogenic microbes remain poorly understood among different age groups, including children (0–17 years), youth (18–39 years), middle‐aged ...

Background Linezolid is an oxazolidinone antibiotic used in the treatment of Gram‐positive bacterial infections. However, its prolonged use is often limited by adverse effects, including thrombocytopenia. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) has been proposed to individualize linezolid dosing to mitigate such adverse effects. This study presents a case of

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of tumor cells in the bone marrow. Standard treatment includes induction remission therapy followed by several courses of consolidation chemotherapy. The 5‐year disease‐free survival rate is only 39%.

Relapsing Bacteraemia due to Corynebacterium striatum in a Patient with Peripheral Arterial Disease
We describe the first reported case of Corynebacterium striatum (C. striatum) relapsing bacteraemia in a patient with peripheral arterial disease and proven Corynebacterium species colonization of a chronic foot ulcer, focusing on the difficulties in the

Biofilm production by multiresistant Corynebacterium striatumassociated with nosocomial outbreak [PDF]
Corynebacterium striatum is a potentially pathogenic microorganism that causes nosocomial outbreaks. However, little is known about its virulence factors that may contribute to healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
