Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Corpografies: donar la paraula al cos

open access: yesArtnodes, 2007
El cos ha irromput de ple en el camp de les ciències socials. Els sabers anatòmics es poden construir més enllà de la mirada biomèdica. Aquest article revisa algunes de les mirades al cos que s'han fet des de la ciència de la paraula o, si es vol, des de

Characterization of Frobenius Groups of Special Type [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We define a Con-Cos group G to be one having a proper normal subgroup N whose cosets other than N itself are conjugacy classes. It follows easily that N = G’, the derived group of G.

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.

The plastid cysteine synthase complex regulates ABA biosynthesis and stomatal closure in Arabidopsis

open access: yesNature Communications
Global warming intensifies drought and high light stress periods, causing severe water loss and decreased crop yield. The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) is the dominant signal governing stomatal closure and water loss.

Specificity of the Hox member Deformed is determined by transcription factor levels and binding site affinities

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Despite the central role of Hox genes in controlling morphogenesis, the DNA binding of different Hox members is relatively similar. Here they show that specificity of Hox member Dfd relies on a precise balance of transcription factors and binding site ...

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.
