The plastid cysteine synthase complex regulates ABA biosynthesis and stomatal closure in Arabidopsis

open access: yesNature Communications
Global warming intensifies drought and high light stress periods, causing severe water loss and decreased crop yield. The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) is the dominant signal governing stomatal closure and water loss.

THE CO-ADSORPTION OF BENZENE AND CO ON Co(0001)

open access: yesSurface Review and Letters, 2009
The co-adsorption of carbon monoxide and benzene on Co(0001) has been studied using density functional calculations. We used the ordered $(\sqrt 7 \times \sqrt 7\/)\ R19^{\circ}$ surface unit cell. A comparison of the co-adsorption with CO and benzene two-dimensional networks is also given. The electronic structure reveals that the CO orbitals interact

Integrins mediate symbiont-specific uptake in cnidarian larvae

open access: yesEMBO Reports
Endosymbiosis between dinoflagellate algae and cnidaria is fundamental for coral reef health. Appropriate symbiont selection is required for sufficient host nutrient acquisition and could be tailored to increase cnidarian stress tolerance.

Double transverse spin asymmetry in the $p^\uparrow\bar{p}^\uparrow$ Drell-Yan process from Sivers functions

open access: yes, 2007
We show that the transverse double spin asymmetry (DSA) in the Drell-Yan process contributed only from the Sivers functions can be picked out by the weighting function $\frac{Q_T}{M^2}(\cos(\phi-\phi_{S_1})\cos(\phi-\phi_{S_2})+3\sin(\phi-\phi_{S_1})\sin(

Pair Production of Color-Octet Scalars at the LHC

open access: yes, 2010
Heavy colored scalar particles, which exist in many models of new physics, can be pair produced at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) via gluon-gluon fusion and possibly form quarkonium-like bound states.

Hox Function Is Required for the Development and Maintenance of the Drosophila Feeding Motor Unit

open access: yesCell Reports, 2016
Feeding is an evolutionarily conserved and integral behavior that depends on the rhythmic activity of feeding muscles stimulated by specific motoneurons.

Coal desulfurization [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Organic sulfur is removed from coal by treatment with an organic solution of iron pentacarbonyl. Organic sulfur compounds can be removed by reaction of the iron pentacarbonyl with coal to generate CO and COS off-gases.

Azimuthal Asymmetries in Heavy Quark Leptoproduction as a Test of pQCD

open access: yes, 2003
We analyze the perturbative and parametric stability of the QCD predictions for the azimuthal asymmetries in heavy quark leptoproduction. At leading order, the $\cos \phi$ asymmetry vanishes whereas the $\cos 2\phi$ one is of leading twist and predicted ...
