Characteristics of landslides triggered by the 2013 M L6.5 Nantou, Taiwan, earthquake
Earthquake-triggered landslides are common disasters of active mountain belts. Due to the lack of earthquake-triggered landslide inventory in Taiwan, it is not intuitive to observe spatial relationships and discover unique patterns between landslides and

Abstract On 27 July and 25 October 2022, an Mw 7.0 earthquake and an Mw 6.4 earthquake struck Abra, northwest of Luzon, Philippines, respectively, with a time interval of less than 3 months and a distance of about 16 km. In this research, interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) was utilized to retrieve the co‐seismic surface deformation field ...

Abstract The Outer California Borderland (OCB) is an active transform plate boundary offshore Southern California, where the relationship between faulting and submarine mass transport deposits (MTDs) remains poorly understood. Onshore paleoseismic data provide high‐resolution earthquake records, whereas marine geophysical data capture longer‐term ...

FMLD: A Vertical Federated Learning Framework for Privacy‐Preserving Multimodal Landslide Detection
Abstract Landslides are among the most severe global geohazards posing a significant threat to human life and infrastructure. To support landslide detection and prediction, various geohazard monitoring approaches have been developed, such as optical remote sensing imagery, light detection and ranging, and ground‐based sensors, generating vast volumes ...

Abstract Recent earthquakes along the shallow portion of the Hikurangi subduction zone (the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake sequence, New Zealand) indicate that faults within the overriding plate of subduction zones may exhibit uncharacteristically large surface displacements relative to their fault length. Whether this style of upper‐plate faulting is common

Coseismic landslide susceptibility assessment using geographic information system [PDF]
Indonesia is one of the most earthquake prone countries in the world. More than 14,000 earthquakes of magnitude greater than 5 occurred in Indonesia between 1897 and 2009. Earthquakes are a major cause of slope instability eventually triggering coseismic landslides, which cost 1.5 million US$/ year in Java: one of the most densely islands in Indonesia.
