The interaction between active tectonics and river morphodynamics is a core principle in tectonic and fluvial geomorphology. Despite the potential hazard implications, coseismic river response (CRR) remains largely unexplored and is often overlooked in earthquake multi-hazard assessments.

DInSAR coseismic surface deformation of the 2023 Mw 6.8 Al Haouz earthquake(High Atlas Mountains, Morocco)
