Chaos for Cosine Operator Functions on Groups [PDF]

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Let1≤p<∞andGbe a locally compact group. We characterize chaotic cosine operator functions, generated by weighted translations on the Lebesgue spaceLp(G), in terms of the weight condition. In particular, chaotic cosine operator functions and chaotic weighted translations can only occur simultaneously. We also give a necessary and sufficient condition

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Using GeoGebra to Help Students Understand the Inverse Cosine Function

open access: yes, 2017
GeoGebra is an extremely powerful tool for mathematics teaching and learning. In this article, we share how to create a GeoGebra worksheet that can be used to display dynamically changing quantities.

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.

Large Transverse Thermoelectric Effect in Weyl Semimetal TaIrTe4 Engineered for Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This experimental work shows that the anomalous scanning photocurrent response patterns of the Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4${\rm TaIrTe}_4$ under visible and long‐wave infrared illumination are due to a large transverse thermoelectric response of the material.

Some Properties of Normalized Tails of Maclaurin Power Series Expansions of Sine and Cosine

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
In the paper, the authors introduce two notions, the normalized remainders, or say, the normalized tails, of the Maclaurin power series expansions of the sine and cosine functions, derive two integral representations of the normalized tails, prove the ...

Unusual angular dependence of tunneling magneto-Seebeck effect

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
We find an unusual angular dependence of the tunneling magneto-Seebeck effect (TMS). The conductance shows normally a cosine-dependence with the angle between the magnetizations of the two ferromagnetic leads.

Group representations of bounded cosine functions. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal), 1996
The paper characterizes in purely algebraic terms two classes of locally compact Abelian groups. One of these comprises all groups \(G\) such that every bounded continuous cosine function on \(G\) with values in a sequentially complete semitopological algebra with identity has a regular group representation.
