Recurrence of Cosine Operator Functions on Groups

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2016
AbstractIn this note, we study the recurrence and topologically multiple recurrence of a sequence of operators on Banach spaces. In particular, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for a cosine operator function, induced by a sequence of operators on the Lebesgue space of a locally compact group, to be topologically multiply recurrent.

Representation of fractional powers of infinitesimal generators of cosine operator functions [PDF]

open access: possibleResults in Mathematics, 1984
By elementary means from the calculus of integral transforms we give a representation of fractional powers of the infinitesimal generator \(\Lambda\) of an equibounded \(C_ 0\)-cosine operator function C on a Banach space A. The result can be used in the theory of interpolation spaces concerning the characterization of the domains \(D((- \Lambda ...

Some applications of Fejer’s theorem to operator cosine functions in Banach spaces

Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1997
Summary: We characterize spectral properties of operator cosine functions in Banach spaces in terms of the Cesàro summability of two series associated to the resolvent of the corresponding infinitesimal generator.

On multiplicative perturbations of C 0 -groups and C 0 -cosine operator functions

Semigroup Forum, 2001
The authors consider convolution operators composed with infinitesimal generators of strongly continuous groups or cosine families. Continuity of these operators is studied within the scale of \(L^p\)-spaces, namely the lifting problem to guarantee that the continuity retains to hold with respect to finer topologies on the range space.

A modified sine cosine algorithm for accurate global optimization of numerical functions and multiple hydropower reservoirs operation

Knowledge-Based Systems, 2020
Abstract Sine cosine algorithm (SCA) is an emerging meta-heuristic method for the complicated global optimization problems, but still suffers from the premature convergence problem due to the loss of swarm diversity. To improve the SCA performance, this paper develops a modified sine cosine algorithm coupled with three improvement strategies, where ...

On a cosine functional equation for operators on the algebra of analytic functions in a domain

Aequationes Mathematicae, 2001
Let \(f\) and \(g\) belong the algebra \(H(G)\) of analytic functions on an open set \(G\) of the complex plane. The functional equation \(M(fg)=M(f)M(g)-L(f)L(g)\) with respect to linear functionals \(M\) and \(L\) on \(H(G)\) has been solved. For instance, \(L(f)=L(I)f'(z_0)\), \(M(f)=f(z_0) \pm L(I)f'(z_0)\), where \(z_0\) is a fixed point from \(G\)
