Predicting DNA Motifs by Using Multi-Objective Hybrid Adaptive Biogeography-Based Optimization
The computational discovery of DNA motifs is one of the most important problems in molecular biology and computational biology, and it has not yet been resolved in an efficient manner.

We analyze a detailed model of a Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in a ring optical resonator and contrast its classical and quantum properties to those of a Fabry-P{\'e}rot geometry. The inclusion of two counter-propagating light fields and three matter

Matrices of operators and regularized cosine functions
In this nice paper, the author studies matrices of abstract differential operators, which are parabolic in the sense of Shilov or correct in the sense of Petrovskij. The author proves that they generate regularized cosine functions with suitable regularizing operators under certain conditions.

This article extends the study of q-versions of analytic functions by introducing and studying the association of starlike functions with trigonometric cosine functions, both defined in their q-versions. Certain coefficient inequalities like coefficient bounds, Zalcman inequalities, and both Hankel and Toeplitz determinants for the new version of ...

Stampacchia's property, self-duality and orthogonality relations
We show that if the conclusion of the well known Stampacchia Theorem, on variational inequalities, holds on a Banach space X, then X is isomorphic to a Hilbert space.

On the Compactness of Strongly Continuous Semigroups and Cosine Functions of Operators [PDF]
In this note we relate two notions of compactness for strongly continuous semigroups of linear operators and cosine functions of linear operators. Specifically, if T denotes a strongly continuous semigroup of linear operators defined on a Banach space X, we will show that T is compact if and only if the set { ( T (

Existence of solutions for an abstract second-order differential equation with nonlocal conditions
We discuss the existence of mild solutions for abstract second-order differential equation with nonlocal conditions. Also we consider some application of our results.

Uniform boundedness of solutions for a class of Lienard equations
In this article, we study a class of Lienard equations $$ x''(t)+f(x(t))x'(t)+g_1(x(t))+g_2(x(t-au(t))=e(t). $$ Under some suitable conditions, we ensure that all solutions of the above Lienard equations are uniformly bounded.

Discrete Sizing Optimization of Steel Structures Using Modified Fireworks Algorithm [PDF]
Fireworks algorithm (FWA) is an artificial intelligence algorithm developed by emulating the burst process of fireworks. This paper applies a modified version of fireworks algorithm called MoFWA to design disparate steel trusses and planar frames.

Time evolution during and after finite-time quantum quenches in the transverse-field Ising chain
We study the time evolution in the transverse-field Ising chain subject to quantum quenches of finite duration, ie, a continuous change in the transverse magnetic field over a finite time.
