1993The discovery of the cosmic background radiation was a major turning point in the history of cosmology. The steady state theory quickly lost credibility and the big bang theory was established. Scientists soon began to take cosmology much more seriously.

Quantization by Cosmic Background Radiation
1989Abstract : This paper suggests that various modes in the cosmic background radiation field may account for the discrete properties exhibited by small systems. In particular, this view is applied to the one-, two-, and three-dimensional oscillators and the hydrogen atom, systems which were treated by Schrodinger in his first papers on quantum mechanics.
