Search for Linear Polarization of the Cosmic Background Radiation [PDF]
We present preliminary measurements of the linear polarization of the cosmic microwave background (3 K blackbody) radiation. These ground-based measurements are made at 9-mm wavelength. We find no evidence for linear polarization, and set an upper limit for a polarized component of 0.8 mK with 95% confidence level. This implies that the present rate of

Contribution of Unresolved Sources to Diffuse Gamma-Ray Emission from the Galactic Plane
The diffuse gamma-ray emission from the Milky Way serves as a crucial probe for understanding the propagation and interactions of cosmic rays within our Galaxy.

The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: Systematic Transient Search of 3 Day Maps
We conduct a systematic search for transients in 3 yr of data (2017–2019) from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT). ACT covers 40% of the sky at three bands spanning from 77–277 GHz. Analysis of 3 day mean-subtracted sky maps, which were match filtered

Cosmic Gamma-ray Background Radiation [PDF]
The cosmic gamma-ray background radiation is one of the most fundamental observables in the gamma-ray band. Although the origin of the cosmic gamma-ray background radiation has been a mystery for a long time, the Fermi gamma-ray space telescope has recently measured it at 0.1-820 GeV and revealed that the cosmic GeV gamma-ray background is composed of ...

An electronic radiation of blackbody: Cosmic electron background [PDF]
The Universe owns the electronic radiation of blackbody at temperature 2.725 K, which we call the cosmic electron background. We calculate its radiation spectrum. The energy distribution of number density of electrons in the cosmic electron background becomes zero as energy goes to both zero and infinity.

Measurements of the Cosmic Background Radiation [PDF]
Maps of the large scale structure (θ>6 °) of the cosmic background radiation covering 90% of the sky are now available. The data show a very strong 50–100 σ (statistical error) dipole component, interpreted as being due to our motion, with a direction of α = 11.25 ± 0.15 hours, δ = -5.6 ± 2.0° The inferred direction of the velocity of our galaxy ...

Analysis of cosmic microwave background radiation in the presence of Lorentz violation [PDF]
We examine the effects Lorentz violation on observations of cosmic microwave background radiation. In particular, we focus on changes in polarization caused by vacuum birefringence. We place stringent constraints on previously untested violations.

Balloon-Based Measurements of the Cosmic Background Radiation [PDF]
We have developed and flown a balloon-borne liquid-heliumcooled spectrometer to measure the cosmic background radiation in the 3 -18-cm/sup -1/ region. It features a cooled horn antenna, a polarizing Michelson interferometer, and a germanium bolometer. These design features and the performance of the instrument are discussed.

Low Background Radiation Detection Techniques and Mitigation of Radioactive Backgrounds
The study of rare fundamental physics phenomena, such as double-beta decay, rare nuclear decays and dark matter, requires very low levels of background radiation in order to observe a signal.

Microwave Background, Backgrounds Hierarchy - Polyphony of Universe [PDF]
We discuss the structure, physical nature, dynamic genesis of clearly detected diffuse backgrounds (radiations) in the Universe. From the point of view of Wave Universe concept it is shown, that observed Backgrounds Hierarchy (Polyphony of Universe) is close connected and causely determined by the sound velocity Hierarchy of the physical medium, cosmic
