Cosmic microwave background bispectrum and inflation [PDF]
We derive an expression for the non-Gaussian cosmic-microwave-background (CMB) statistic $I_l^3$ defined recently by Ferreira, Magueijo, and Górski in terms of the slow-roll-inflation parameters $ε$ and $η$. This result shows that a nonzero value of $I_l^3$ in COBE would rule out single-field slow-roll inflation.

Disturbing dreams and dementia incidence across diverse cohort studies: A COSMIC collaboration study
Aim Distressing dreams were previously reported to predict future all‐cause dementia among predominantly white US participants aged 79–89 years, particularly in men. We investigated whether disturbing dreams (nightmares and bad dreams) were associated with all‐cause and Alzheimer dementia (AD) among individuals aged 60–89 years from diverse ...

DAEMON DECAY AND COSMIC INFLATION
Quantum tunneling in Reissner--Nordstroem geometry is studied and the tunneling rate is determined. A possible scenario for cosmic inflation, followed by reheating phases and subsequent radiation-domination expansion, is proposed.

Fitting Cosmic Microwave Background Data with Cosmic Strings and Inflation [PDF]
We perform a multiparameter likelihood analysis to compare measurements of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) power spectra with predictions from models involving cosmic strings. Adding strings to the standard case of a primordial spectrum with power-law tilt ns, we find a 2sigma detection of strings: f10=0.11+/-0.05, where f10 is the fractional ...

Abstract Central artery stiffening increases the haemodynamic pulsations transmitted downstream towards target organs, including the brain. While recent evidence suggests that long duration spaceflight is associated with reduced common carotid artery (CCA) distensibility, cerebrovascular pulsatility has not been extensively characterized in astronauts.

A new mechanism for freezing extra dimensions with higher-order curvature terms
We construct a model of higher dimensional cosmology in which extra dimensions are frozen by virtue of the cubic-order Lovelock gravity throughout the cosmic history from inflation to the present with radiation and matter-dominated regimes in between.

Clocking the end of cosmic inflation
AbstractMaking observable predictions for cosmic inflation requires determining when the wavenumbers of astrophysical interest today exited the Hubble radius during the inflationary epoch. These instants are commonly evaluated using the slow-roll approximation and measured in e-folds ΔN=N-Nend, in reference to the e-foldNendat which inflation ended ...

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Unified emergence of energy scales and cosmic inflation
In the quest for unification of the Standard Model with gravity, classical scale invariance can be utilized to dynamically generate the Planck mass M Pl.

Dissipative quintessential cosmic inflation
In this paper we construct a dissipative quintessential cosmic inflation. For this purpose, we add a multiplicative dissipative term in the standard quintessence field Lagrangian. We consider the specific form of dissipation as the time integral including the Hubble parameter and an arbitrary function that describes the dissipative properties of the ...
