Quasi‐4‐Day Waves During the 2018/2019 SSW and Their Coupling to the Ionosphere Based on Whole Atmosphere Data Assimilation

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract A strong westward zonal wavenumber‐2 quasi‐4‐day wave (Q4DW) during the 2018/2019 Northern Hemisphere sudden stratospheric warming (SSW) is both captured by Aura Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) observations and our new whole neutral atmosphere data assimilation system.

Boron Nitride Nanomaterials Trigger Immunomodulatory Effects in Human Broncho‐Epithelial Cells by Modulating Eicosanoid Lipid Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
This study demonstrates that BNNT exposure disrupts lipid homeostasis in bronchial epithelial cell cultures and activates eicosanoid lipid biosynthesis, producing inflammatory lipid mediators like leukotrienes. These effects are more pronounced in asthmatic cell cultures compared to healthy ones.

The Cosmic Microwave Background and $$H_0$$

open access: yes
The cosmic microwave background (CMB) offers a unique window into the early universe, providing insights into cosmological parameters like the Hubble constant. Recent precise measurements of the CMB by experiments like Planck seem to point to a lower value for the Hubble constant compared to some other measurements like those from Type Ia supernovae ...

Logarithmic and Strong Coupling Models in Weyl‐Type f(Q,T)$f(Q,T)$ Gravity

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 1, January 2026.
This work explores Weyl‐type f(Q,T) gravity using recent observational datasets — CC, Pantheon+, Union 3.0, and DESI DR2. Through MCMC analysis of logarithmic and strong coupling models, the study reveals a transition from deceleration to acceleration, quintessence‐to‐phantom dynamics, and late‐time consistency with LCDM, offering a geometry‐driven ...

Polarization of the cosmic microwave background

open access: yes
Since the first detection by the DASI experiment in 2002, measurements of the polarization of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) have grown into an important role in testing our understanding of conditions in the early universe and cosmology. The field has seen rapid experimental progress, driven in large part by the desire to make increasingly ...

Impacts of atmospheric river reconnaissance dropsondes on ECMWF Integrated Forecasting System precipitation forecasts

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, Volume 152, Issue 774, January 2026 Part A.
Impacts of Atmospheric River Reconnaissance dropsonde observations on precipitation forecasts over the U.S. West Coast are examined in the European Centre for Medium‐Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) Integrated Forecasting System (IFS), using observing‐system experiments.

The Simons Observatory: Detector Polarization Angle Calibration Using a Sparse Wire Grid with Initial Datasets of the Small-aperture Telescopes

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Improved measurements of B -modes in the cosmic microwave background can be obtained through accurate calibration of the orientation of detector antennas as projected onto the sky. Miscalibration of the detector polarization angle leads to a leakage of E
