ABSTRACT Chronologic and geomorphic evidence of past glaciations is largely recorded in areas at relatively low elevation and/or landscapes defined by high glacial erosion. As a result, data from areas that did not experience significant glacial erosion and the highest elevation locations are lacking from reconstructions of past ice masses.

Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays [PDF]
The origin of the particles in the highest energy end of the cosmic ray spectrum is discussed in the context of the wider problem of the origin of the whole cosmic radiation as observed at the Earth. In particular we focus our attention on the acceleration problem and on the transition from galactic to extragalactic cosmic rays.

Low‐Frequency Raman Spectra of Natural Pyrrhotites: Polarization Dependence for Its Lattice Modes
The present study found low‐wavenumber Raman modes of pyrrhotite Fe1‐xS at ~68, ~87, ~117, and ~230 cm−1 for the first time, thanks to a lab‐built Raman spectrometer, in which the optical path of the incident laser was purged by Ar gas. The sufficiently high signal‐to‐noise and signal‐to‐base ratios enabled us to obtain the polarization dependence of ...

Flat wormholes from straight cosmic strings [PDF]
Special multi-cosmic string metrics are analytically extended to describe configurations of Wheeler-Misner wormholes and ordinary cosmic strings. I investigate in detail the case of flat, asymptotically Minkowskian, Wheeler-Misner wormhole spacetimes generated by two cosmic strings, each with tension $-1/4G$.

ABSTRACT Background Thermoregulation is critical for preventing hyperthermia during physical activity. In Huntington's disease (HD), research on possible thermoregulatory alterations has received little attention. Objectives We aimed to investigate and compare skin temperature differences before and after exercise between HD patients and healthy ...

Traditional Chinese Medicine Properties and Microcalorimetry: BioScience Evaluation
ABSTRACT The properties theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), characterized by cold, hot, warm, and cool four properties, is fundamental to its development, distinguishing it from natural, botanical, and chemical medicines. However, despite its significance, there is no unified theoretical definition, bioscientific characterization, or ...

Creator or Tool? (To the Consciousness Origin) [PDF]
The problem of subjective consciousness genesis is investigated: whether is it a product of creatively conceiving brain or of transcendental consciousness, external in relation to a brain. The consciousness is considered from positions of rationalism (in

Wilms Tumor in Children with AMER1/WTX Germline Pathogenic Variants: A Multicenter Case Series
ABSTRACT Background 10–15% of children with Wilms tumor (WT) have predisposing genetic syndromes. Somatic mutations are frequently identified; however, germline pathogenic variants in AMER1 are much less prevalent and are associated with osteopathia striata with cranial sclerosis (OSCS).
