Lateglacial and Holocene mountain glacier fluctuations near Cape Farewell South Greenland inferred from 10Be moraine dating

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, Volume 40, Issue 8, Page 1344-1363, November 2025.
ABSTRACT We report 43 new 10Be exposure ages and six 26Al/10Be measurements from replicates from a small piedmont mountain glacier located at Cape Farewell (south Greenland) and temperature anomalies estimated from equilibrium‐line altitude (ELA) changes derived from 3D glacier reconstruction carried out using the ‘GlaRe’ toolbox.

Multifunctional Mussel‐Inspired Hydrogels and Films Formed via Catechol‐VO2 Nanoparticle Coordination

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 46, Issue 22, November 20, 2025.
Inspired by the DOPA‐vanadium coordination found in the mussel byssus, this study presents a facile method to fabricate VO2‐based hydrogels and elastomeric films while preserving the intrinsic thermochromic properties of the nanoparticles. This study highlights the potential of bioinspired metal‐catechol coordination to advance thermochromic flexible ...

Uncovering the Role of DNA Repair Impairment in UVA‐Induced Mutagenesis in Human Xeroderma Pigmentosum Variant Cells

open access: yesMolecular Carcinogenesis, Volume 64, Issue 11, Page 1823-1837, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Ultraviolet A (UVA) radiation induces DNA damage both directly, by forming cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPDs), and indirectly, by generating oxidative stress. Cells rely on nucleotide excision repair (NER) and translesion synthesis (TLS) to tolerate these lesions.

Preserved Thermoregulation in Huntington's Disease: Insights from an Observational Case–Control Study

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, Volume 12, Issue 11, Page 1784-1791, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Thermoregulation is critical for preventing hyperthermia during physical activity. In Huntington's disease (HD), research on possible thermoregulatory alterations has received little attention. Objectives We aimed to investigate and compare skin temperature differences before and after exercise between HD patients and healthy ...

Effects of Galactic Irradiation on Thermal and Electronic Transport in Tungsten

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), Volume 262, Issue 11, November 2025.
This atomic‐scale study reveals how low‐to‐mid‐energy space irradiation alters tungsten's thermal and electronic behavior, even at low defect levels. Focusing on vacancy sites in bulk and near grain boundaries, it employs two novel approaches: site‐projected thermal conductivity and the N2$^{2}$ method for the thermal and electronic response analysis ...

Raman of 2D‐MoS2: Disentangling the Metallic Phase Conundrum

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 9, Issue 11, November 1, 2025.
2D‐MoS2 can suffer oxidation to MoO3 during Raman measurements, even under low‐power laser. We report a comprehensive Raman analysis of 1T‐MoS2 by investigating the impact of oxidizing (air) atmosphere, laser power, irradiation time, and temperature changes on the sample. The results might seem surprising, but they should not be.

First Detection of [SI] in Near‐IR JWST Observations of Io in Eclipse, and Comparison With SO Emissions, Evolving Volcanic Eruptions, and Prior UV HST‐STIS [SI] Emissions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract We observed Io with the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) NIRSpec/Integral Field Unit (1.0–5.3 μm, R∼2700 $R\sim 2700$) in August 2023 while the satellite was in eclipse. Thermal emission from Kanehekili Fluctus is consistent with the cooling of lava flows after a vigorous eruption in November 2022.

Cosmic Ray Counting Variability From Water‐Cherenkov Detectors as a Proxy of Stratospheric Conditions in Antarctica

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract This work examines atmospheric effects on cosmic ray counts observed by a Water‐Cherenkov detector at the Argentine Antarctic Marambio Station. We analyze the influence of ground‐level barometric pressure and geopotential height at various pressure levels on daily particle rates, finding the strongest association at 100 hPa, linked to ...

TEMPO at Night: Lightning Flashes and On‐Orbit Instrument Performance

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The abundant nighttime (twilight) spectra from October 2024 are used for characterization of on‐orbit instrument performance of the Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO, a geostationary imaging spectrometer). We select 250 lightning flashes and measure the flash sizes and flash positions in 6 spectral domains spread across ...
