Southern Hemisphere Observations of a $10^{18}$eV Cosmic Ray Source Near the Direction of the Galactic Centre [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We report on an analysis of data from the southern hemisphere SUGAR cosmic ray detector. We confirm the existence of an excess of $10^{18}$eV cosmic rays from a direction close to the Galactic Centre, first reported by the AGASA group.

Quality Control of High-Speed Photon Detectors [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
High-speed-photon detectors are some of the most important tools for observations of high energy cosmic rays. As technologies of photon detectors and their read-out electronics improved rapidly, the time resolution of some cosmic ray detectors became ...

Measurements of the isotopes of lithium, beryllium, and boron from ACE/CRIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The isotopes of lithium, beryllium, and boron (LiBeB) are known in nature to be produced primarily by CNO spallation and α-α fusion from interactions between cosmic rays and interstellar nuclei.

HAWC Observations Strongly Favor Pulsar Interpretations of the Cosmic-Ray Positron Excess [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Recent measurements of the Geminga and B0656+14 pulsars by the gamma-ray telescope HAWC (along with earlier measurements by Milagro) indicate that these objects generate significant fluxes of very high-energy electrons.

Multiple production up to √s = 13 TeV with the generator GHOST adapted to cosmic ray simulation

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The model HDPM of CORSIKA has been updated and developed on the base of the recent measurements by LHCb, CMS, TOTEM... The new model GHOST involving a 4-source production reproduces correctly the pseudorapidity distributions of charged secondaries and ...

Hadronic interaction studied by TA [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
Two studies by the Telescope Array group related to the hadronic interaction observed with Extensive Air Showers are reviewed. (1) Inelastic p-air cross section σp−airinel=567.0±70.5 [stat]−25+29[sys] mb$ \sigma _{p - air}^{inel} = 567.0 \pm 70.5\,[{\rm{

Constraining heavy dark matter with cosmic-ray antiprotons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Cosmic-ray observations provide a powerful probe of dark matter annihilation in the Galaxy. In this paper we derive constraints on heavy dark matter from the recent precise AMS-02 antiproton data. We consider all possible annihilation channels into pairs

Status and prospects of the TAx4 experiment [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
The TAx4 experiment is a project to observe highest energy cosmic rays by expanding the detection area of the TA experiment with newly constructed surface detectors (SDs) and fluorescence detectors (FDs).
