Cosmological Evolution with Negative Energy Densities

open access: yesAstrophysics, 2022
For general number of spatial dimensions we investigate the cosmological dynamics driven by a cosmological constant and by a source with barotropic equation of state. It is assumed that for both those sources the energy density can be either positive or negative. Exact solutions of the cosmological equations are provided for flat models.

The scaling evolution of the cosmological constant [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2002
25 pages, 1 figure using axodraw. Extended version. The title and the part of the discussion concerning a gravitational energy scale modified. The new section about the role of the cosmological constant in the anomaly-induced inflation added.

Integrated explorer for cosmological evolution

2015 IEEE Scientific Visualization Conference (SciVis), 2015
Our system design is motivated by the need to simultaneously observe multiple data modalities. The main output from the cosmological simulation is a set of particle data, where each particle represents a dark matter parcel which coalesces into larger structures over time.

The Evolution of Cosmology

The Mathematical Gazette, 1940
Thales of Miletus (640-546 B.C.) was the first cosmologist. Despite the naïvety of his particular theory, that “everything is water”, he was the first to formulate the hypothesis that, in all the multiplicity and diversity of its aspects, the World is One.

The Evolution of Cosmologies

Philosophy of Science, 1952
Man is by nature a creature who is curious. He must have theories and explanations. He wants to understand why there is a universe; and he wants to know what kind of a universe it is that he inhabits. Primitive man has his myths about the origins of things, and the modern scientists have their latest speculations about the universe.

Cosmological Evolution in Radio Galaxies

Nature, 1971
ROWAN-ROBINSON has presented evidence that radio galaxies exhibit remarkably strong evolutionary effects with cosmological epoch1. Examination of his evidence, however, indicates that, although an evolutionary effect may indeed be present, no reliable estimate of the time scale involved can yet be made in the way he proposes.
