Abstract Ethnographers observe and engage the field. They live with, play with, eat with, dance with, feel with, and, increasingly, write or film with their interlocutors. But most of all, they listen and converse. As they enter the lingual ecology of their hosts through a range of practices of communication, ethnographers begin a multi‐faceted journey

PSR, Modal Collapse, and Open Future in Ibn Sīnā's Philosophy
ABSTRACT It has been contended that the Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR) implies necessitarianism—that is, the view that everything occurs out of necessity. Discussing a well‐known argument for this claim developed by contemporary metaphysicians, I show that Ibn Sīnā has anticipated a counterpart of this argument, and that is precisely why he is ...

Cosmological models with running cosmological constant
The thesis undertakes an attempt to solve the problems of cosmological constant as well as of coincidence in the models in which dark energy is described by a running cosmological constant. Three reasons to possibly underlie the constant's changeability are considered: dark energy's decay, diffusion between dark energy and dark matter, and modified ...

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...
