Cosmological models with a variable cosmological term and bulk viscous models

Physical Review D, 1993
Recently, flat variable-Λ cosmological models have been discussed by Berman. It is shown that these models are equivalent to perfect fluid models with bulk viscosity which have been presented previously. The model of Berman, which is free of particle creation and which is claimed to solve the entropy problem, is shown to be the usual Einstein-de Sitter

A Cosmological Model

Nature, 1966
(I) IT is familiar that the Einstein equations for the density and pressure in a uniform universe: do not suffice to specify the model since there are two equations and three unknown functions, ρ, p and R.

Cosmological Models

2020
This chapter examines two spatially homogenous world pictures which captured most of the attention in cosmology from the late 1940s through the mid-1960s: an evolving universe and a universe in a statistically steady state. The evolving model describes expansion according to general relativity from an exceedingly dense early condition often termed the ...

The Cosmological Models

1992
Before the observational evidence is presented in detail it seems convenient to establish a few theoretical concepts. The basic motivation is to describe the expansion of the universe in as simple terms as possible. In this restricted sense the classical term “cosmological model” usually means a geometrical description of the space-time structure and ...
