American Ethnologist, EarlyView.Abstract An anthropology of horror can serve as a vernacular critique of financial speculation. Drawing on fieldwork in San Pedro, Paraguay, I track horror across three registers: pombero tricksters; plata yvyguy (buried money) as a founding myth of postwar finance; and obligations binding sesame farmers to monsters, patrones, and creditors.

Archaeometry, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Absolute radiocarbon dating offers high precision, but its application to historical contexts, such as the Inca civilization, requires a rigorous methodological approach. This research examines methods to enhance chronological accuracy through a case study of artifacts from the Llullaillaco Capacocha sacrifice.

Physical Review D, 1998 In this paper we discuss the effect of local inhomogeneities on the global expansion of nearly FLRW universes, in a perturbative setting. We derive a generic linearized averaging operation for metric perturbations from basic assumptions, and we explicify the issue of gauge invariance.
