Social return on investment analysis of an art group for people with dementia

open access: yes, 2014
Funding bodies require interventions to show value for money before further investment is made. Although cost-effectiveness analysis is widely used in economic evaluation it might not capture the social value generated by certain interventions.

Enabling Real‐Time, Non‐Ionizing 3D Imaging of Implantable Magnetic Cements Using Magnetic Particle Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study reports the first implantable resin cement capable of orientation‐sensitive Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI). By coating the cement with an ultrathin iron film, the authors achieve a strong, angle‐dependent MPI signal that enables non‐ionizing, real‐time tracking of both implant position and orientation, opening new possibilities for safe ...

Transparent Transfer‐Free Ultrasmall Multilayer Graphene Microelectrodes Enable High Quality Recordings in Brain Slices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transfer‐free fabrication method enables multilayer graphene microelectrodes as small as 10 µm, eliminating reliability issues of manual graphene transfer. These electrodes record neural activity in brain slices with exceptional signal‐to‐noise ratios (up to 25–40 dB) while maintaining optical transparency for multimodal applications.
