Ageism in Rheumatology: the Healthcare Professional's Perspective
Objective Ageism (age‐based stereotypes, prejudice, or discrimination) is prevalent and linked to prolonged disability and reduced lifespan in older adults. Little is known about ageism within rheumatology. This study explores the healthcare professional's (HCP) perception of the care of older adults and how ageist attitudes or perspectives may impact ...

Minimization of carbon abatement cost: Modeling, analysis and simulation
In this paper, we consider a problem of minimizing the carbon abatement cost of a country. Two models are built within the stochastic optimal control framework based on two types of abatement policies. The corresponding HJB equations are deduced, and the existence and uniqueness of their classical solutions are established by PDE methods.

Whole‐Blood RNA Sequencing Profiling of Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis Treated With Tofacitinib
Objective Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) often fail to respond to therapies, including JAK inhibitors (JAKi), and treatment allocation is made via a trial‐and‐error strategy. A comprehensive analysis of responses to JAKi, including tofacitinib, by RNA sequencing (RNAseq) would allow the discovery of transcriptomic markers with a two‐fold ...

Denotational Foundations for Expected Cost Analysis [PDF]
Reasoning about the cost of executing programs is one of the fundamental questions in computer science. In the context of programming with probabilities, however, the notion of cost stops being deterministic, since it depends on the probabilistic samples made throughout the execution of the program.

About the analogy between optimal transport and minimal entropy [PDF]
We describe some analogy between optimal transport and the Schr\"odinger problem where the transport cost is replaced by an entropic cost with a reference path measure. A dual Kantorovich type formulation and a Benamou-Brenier type representation formula of the entropic cost are derived, as well as contraction inequalities with respect to the entropic ...

Risk management on application of minimum-cost feed ration for nitrogen and phosphorus reduction on dairy farm [PDF]
The traditional mathematical programming model with the objective function of feed ration cost minimization is used to accommodate risk management responses to price variability associated with feeding a particular feed ration over time.

Distributed Flow Scheduling in an Unknown Environment [PDF]
Flow scheduling tends to be one of the oldest and most stubborn problems in networking. It becomes more crucial in the next generation network, due to fast changing link states and tremendous cost to explore the global structure.
