Dual‐Layer Living Hydrogel Enables On‐Demand Delivery of Phages and Probiotics for Synergistic Wound Infection Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐layer living hydrogel, ProΦGel, integrates bacteriophages and probiotics for synergistic wound infection therapy. The outer gelatin‐based matrix releases phages on demand in response to P. aeruginosa infections, while inner alginate beads sustain probiotic delivery.

Overcoming Debye Length Limitations in Electrolyte‐Gated Transistor Biosensors Using Nanoscale‐Grooved Oxide Semiconductors Fabricated by Thermal Nanoimprint Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoscale‐grooved indium gallium oxide (IGO) semiconductors, patterned via thermal nanoimprint lithography (NIL) using CD/DVD templates, are integrated into electrolyte‐gated transistor biosensors to overcome Debye length limitations. Precisely engineered concave–convex nanostructures modulate local electrostatic potentials, extend the effective Debye ...

Cost Minimization Analysis of Ganglion Cyst Excision

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2017
Cost minimization analysis can be employed to determine the least costly option when multiple treatments lead to equivalent outcomes. We present a cost minimization analysis from the payers' perspective, of the direct per patient cost of arthroscopic versus open ganglion cyst excision.

Nursing Home Medication Administration Cost Minimization Analysis

Journal of the American Medical Directors Association, 2007
To assess the time it takes nurses to administer medications in the nursing home setting, to calculate nursing cost of medication administration, and to determine whether using extended-release products are justified by decreasing nursing costs.Cost-minimization analysis using observational data from a time-motion analysis. Two 150-bed nursing homes in ...

Cost minimization analysis for basic life support

Resuscitation, 2019
The use of online teaching methodology for basic life support (BLS) courses is progressively increasing. The objective of this study was to verify whether the blended-learning methodology (virtual course with a short face-to-face complement) was more efficient than a course that followed the classical or face-to-face methodology in our university.A cost

Time-cost tradeoff analysis with minimized project financing cost

Automation in Construction, 2019
Abstract Time-cost tradeoff analysis allows a contractor to build a project using an optimal schedule that leads to minimum cost. The financing cost can be minimized if the financing decision considers different financing alternatives such as short-term and long-term loans and lines of credit.

Analysis and simulation of payment cost minimization and bid cost minimization with strategic bidders

2011 IEEE/PES Power Systems Conference and Exposition, 2011
Presently, Independent System Operators (ISOs) in deregulated electricity markets in the U.S. use an auction method that minimizes the total bid cost when determining units to be on and their generation levels (Bid Cost Minimization or BCM). It has recently been shown that this method of auction does not provide minimal consumer payment costs for a ...

NONPARAMETRIC ANALYSIS OF COST MINIMIZATION AND EFFICIENCY

1998
This study examines cost minimizing behavior and efficiency measures for a sample of Kansas wheat producers, using nonparametric methods. As such, it verifies the applicability of nonparametrics within a production economic framework.
