Assessing the Ecological Value: Monetizing Process Innovations in Tailored Forming
This article introduces a method for evaluating the sustainability of innovations, even with limited data. The method is illustrated through an analysis of the “Tailored Forming” technology, which explores the impact of sustainability on economic value added.

An optimization dichotomy for capital injections and absolutely continuous dividend strategies [PDF]
We consider an optimal stochastic control problem in which a firm's cash/surplus process is controlled by dividend payments and capital injections. Stockholders aim to maximize their dividend stream minus the cost of injecting capital, if needed.

Harnessing Outer Space for Improved Electrocaloric Cooling
A novel radiative heat sink/source‐integrated electrocaloric (R‐iEC) system combines the electrocaloric (EC) effect with a thermally conductive radiative cooler (TCRC) to address heat dissipation limitations in EC devices. Utilizing outer space as a heat sink, the system achieves up to 240 W m−2 of heat dissipation performance, making it highly ...

Recognising natural capital on the balance sheet: options for water utilities [PDF]
Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore the feasibility of natural capital accounting for the purpose of strengthening sustainability claims by reporting entities. The study linked riparian land improvement to ecosystem services and tested options for incorporating natural capital into financial accounting practices, specifically on the balance ...

Carbon Nanotube 3D Integrated Circuits: From Design to Applications
As Moore's law approaches its physical limits, carbon nanotube (CNT) 3D integrated circuits (ICs) emerge as a promising alternative due to the miniaturization, high mobility, and low power consumption. CNT 3D ICs in optoelectronics, memory, and monolithic ICs are reviewed while addressing challenges in fabrication, design, and integration.

On De Finetti's control under Poisson observations: optimality of a double barrier strategy in a Markov additive model [PDF]
In this paper we consider the De Finetti's optimal dividend and capital injection problem under a Markov additive model. We assume that the surplus process before dividends and capital injections follows a spectrally positive Markov additive process. Dividend payments are made only at the jump times of an independent Poisson process.

Capitalism is groovy, but at what cost?
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the FDA was forced to bypass normal protocol and issue Emergency Use Authorization for diagnostic testing. As a result, we have seen an explosion in the number of available molecular diagnostic tests developed by various private enterprises. Our case reports of an 85-year-old female who was suffering from a multitude of co-
