Accuracy and reproducibility of a single‐pose image‐to‐robot registration method for mobile C‐arm cone beam CT guided histotripsy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Histotripsy is a focal tumor therapy that utilizes focused ultrasound (US) to mechanically destroy tissue. To overcome visualization limitations of diagnostic US‐guidance, C‐arm cone beam CT (CBCT)‐guided histotripsy is being developed, for which a mobile C‐arm could increase accessibility. CBCT‐guided histotripsy uses a phantom with a

Sequence Analysis to Phenotype Health Care Patterns in Adults With Musculoskeletal Conditions Using Primary Care Electronic Health Records

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The aim of this study was to apply sequence analysis (SA) to phenotype health care patterns of adult patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions using primary care electronic health records and to investigate the association between these health care patterns and patients’ self‐reported outcomes after consultation.

Combining Q-Learning and Search with Amortized Value Estimates [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We introduce "Search with Amortized Value Estimates" (SAVE), an approach for combining model-free Q-learning with model-based Monte-Carlo Tree Search (MCTS). In SAVE, a learned prior over state-action values is used to guide MCTS, which estimates an improved set of state-action values.

Effectiveness of a Telephone‐Delivered Walk With Ease Program on Arthritis‐Related Symptoms, Function, and Activity: A Randomized Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Walk With Ease (WWE) is a six‐week arthritis‐appropriate evidence‐based physical activity program traditionally offered in a face‐to‐face format. Because many populations encounter participation barriers to in‐person programs, WWE was modified for telephone delivery (WWE‐T).

Placebo Effect Sizes in Clinical Trials of Knee Osteoarthritis Using Intra‐Articular Injections of Biologic Agents

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Patients with knee osteoarthritis rely on symptomatic treatments, in which up to 75% of the pain reduction can be attributed to the placebo effect. This effect may vary based on treatment type (eg, biologics vs nonbiologic injection) and route of administration (eg, intra‐articular vs topical vs oral).

Savings in location management costs leveraging user statistics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
The growth in the number of users in mobile communications networks and the rise in the traffic generated by each user, are responsible for the increasing importance of Mobility Management. Within Mobility Management, the main objective of Location Management is to enable the roaming of the user in the coverage area.
