Abstract The highest areas in Guatemala and Costa Rica were glaciated to altitudes as low as ca. 3100 m during the late Quaternary. On the high plateau of the Sierra Cuchumatanes, moraine limits define the Mayan Ice Cap and valley glaciers that define late Quaternary equilibrium line altitudes of 3470-3670 meters.

Agromyzidae in Costa Rica.

Das Ergebnis einer Untersuchung der Agromyzidae aus der Sammlung des ehemaligen Deutschen Entomologischen Institutes von Costa Rica wird vorgelegt. Ungefähr 1000 Exemplare wurden untersucht. Da sich das Material in einem schlechten Zustand befindet, konnten nur 21 Arten identifiziert und drei neue Arten beschrieben werden (zwei davon in diesem Beitrag).
