Defining ecotourism for mainstream application and to support sustainable tourism governance
This study explores how eco‐tourism is understood and defined by tourism and environmental professionals in Ireland. Through thematic analysis of stakeholder interviews, we reveal the need for clear, sustainability‐oriented definitions to distinguish eco‐tourism from nature‐based tourism.
