Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Hospital benchmarking analysis and the derivation of cost indices [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper reports work undertaken for the UK Department of Health to explore approaches to measuring and comparing hospital productivity. The purpose of the cost indices produced in this paper has been to use them to derive productivity scores for ...

Cost-Effectiveness Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Medicine, 2009
Before any attempt to address the issues implied in the article by Mohan and Miles ( [1][1] ) in this issue of The Journal of Nuclear Medicine , a brief and deliberately simplistic review of methodologic basics may facilitate understanding by nonexpert readers of that article ( [1][1] ). Cost-

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

Incorporating Environmentally Compliant Manure Nutrient Disposal Costs into Least-Cost Livestock Ration Formulation [PDF]

open access: yes
Livestock rations are formulated to minimize feed cost subject to nutritional requirements for a target performance level, which ignores the potentially substantial cost of disposing of nutrients fed in excess of nutritional requirements.

The importance of environmental issues and costs in Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) for highway projects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Sustainability has been increasingly recognised as an integral part of highway infrastructure development. In practice however, the fact that financial return is still a\ud project’s top priority for many, environmental aspects tend to be overlooked or ...
