The lower jaw of Devonian ray‐finned fishes (Actinopterygii): Anatomy, relationships, and functional morphology

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 3, Page 550-602, March 2026.
Abstract Actinopterygii is a major extant vertebrate group, but limited data are available for its earliest members. Here we investigate the morphology of Devonian actinopterygians, focusing on the lower jaw. We use X‐ray computed tomography (XCT) to provide comprehensive descriptions of the mandibles of 19 species, which span the whole of the Devonian

Shifting the paradigm from person‐centered to Indigenous‐centered: A qualitative study to inform a framework for culturally appropriate approaches to dementia care in Alberta, Canada

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia: Behavior &Socioeconomics of Aging, Volume 2, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Dementia prevalence in Indigenous populations worldwide is increasing at disproportionately higher rates compared to non‐Indigenous populations, and current care systems are insufficient. This project developed a foundational understanding of Indigenous‐centered approaches to dementia care provision in Alberta, Canada.

A Mathematical Model for Two‐Phase Flow in Confined Environments: Numerical Solution and Validation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 98, Issue 3, Page 306-320, March 2026.
We present a numerical framework based on the Cahn‐Hilliard‐Navier‐Stokes (CHNS) model to simulate biphasic flow in confined environments. After deriving the mathematical model, we develop the weak form of the system of PDEs using a pedagogical approach to enable its implementation in FEniCS.
