Local Responses to Limits on U.S. Public Health Authority During the COVID‐19 Emergency

open access: yesThe International Journal of Health Planning and Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Public health has become politicized in the U.S. Though research shows that limiting public health authority during emergency response puts community wellbeing and health outcomes at risk, during the COVID‐19 emergency (2020–2021), some U.S. state policymakers limited the disease‐preventing actions local public health agencies could take. Prevalence and risk factors for postpartum depression and stress among mothers of preterm and low birthweight infants admitted to a neonatal intensive care unit in Accra, Ghana

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 169, Issue 1, Page 131-137, April 2025.
Abstract To determine the prevalence of postpartum depression (PPD) and postpartum stress (PPS) and identify associated risk factors among mothers of preterm and low birth weight (LBW) infants. We conducted a secondary analysis of data collected from 255 mothers with preterm and LBW infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Korle ...

Genetic and environmental influences on sleep quality, ability to settle, and crying duration in 2‐ and 5‐month‐old infants: A longitudinal twin study

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
This study found that genetic factors largely influence crying duration and settle ability in infancy, while shared environmental factors primarily affect the number of night wakeups. Etiological influences tended to change from 2 to 5 months, reflecting a highly plastic period in infant brain development and in child‐environment interactions. Abstract

Approximation of Dirac operators with δ‐shell potentials in the norm resolvent sense, II: Quantitative results

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper is devoted to the approximation of two‐ and three‐dimensional Dirac operators HV∼δΣ$H_{\widetilde{V} \delta _\Sigma }$ with combinations of electrostatic and Lorentz scalar δ$\delta$‐shell interactions in the norm resolvent sense. Relying on results from Behrndt, Holzmann, and Stelzer‐Landauer [Math. Nachr.
