This study identifies FXYD1 as an epigenetically silenced tumor suppressor in breast cancer. DNA methylation turns off the gene FXYD1 in breast cancer, and low levels predict worse outcomes. Restoring FXYD1 limits breast cancer cells proliferation and metastasis. In the nucleus, FXYD1 recruits the E3 ligase MAEA to K63‐ubiquitinate DDX5 for proteasomal

The Effects of Changing Technology: The Impacts of a Changing Cost Structure on Land Tenure Arrangements in the Mississippi Delta, 1996 - 2004 [PDF]
Genetically modified (GM) cotton varieties have changed many aspects of cotton production in the United States. The advent of GM varieties has fueled the ongoing trend of increasing farm size and fewer farmers.

Selective Inhibition of Integrin β3 Topology Provides a Safer Antithrombotic Strategy
Current integrin αIIbβ3 inhibitors effectively reduce thrombosis but also increase bleeding risk. During thrombosis, high shear blood flow can directly activate the integrin αIIbβ3 via a distinct topological change in the β3 transmembrane domain, independent of hemostatic platelet signaling.

This study investigates how CTCs survive varying shear stress during hematogenous metastasis. We uncover a self‐protection mechanism, by which non‐adherent CTCs adapt to high shearing milieu through accumulated cytoplasmic myosin‐mediated disruption of myosin‐actin binding, attenuating force transmission into chromatin to protect CTCs from shear ...
