Fabrication of multifunctional textiles with durable antibacterial property and efficient oil-water separation via in situ growth of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) on cotton fabric

, 2020
Facile construction of multifunctional fabrics with durability still remains a challenge in the past decade. In this work, we report a facile fabrication of non-fluorinated superhydrophobic and antibacterial cotton fabric surfaces via in situ growing ...

Fabrication of Liquid and Vapor Protective Cotton Fabrics

Langmuir, 2013
Through microwave-assisted techniques, cotton textiles treated with heptadecafluoro-1,1,2,2-tetrahydrodecyltrimethoxysilane in the presence of high surface area silica nanoparticles create a material capable of repelling bulk liquid challenges while simultaneously adsorbing organic vapors from bulk liquid droplets.

An eco-friendly and effective flame retardant coating for cotton fabric based on phytic acid doped silica sol approach

, 2020
The high flammability of cellulosic materials somewhat limits their practical application. The introduction of an environmentally benign flame retardant coating for cotton fabric was achieved by hydrolyzing tetraethoxysilane and doping the silica sol ...

Self-cleaning Cotton Fabrics

MRS Proceedings, 2006
AbstractNanocrystalline anatase titanium dioxide films were successfully produced on cotton fabrics from alkoxide solutions under ambient pressure using the low temperature sol-gel process. At a temperature as low as 40°C, only anatase phase formed from X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD).

Superhydrophobic cotton fabric with excellent healability fabricated by the “grafting to” method using a diblock copolymer mist

, 2020
A diblock copolymer, poly[(methyl methacrylate)-b-(trifluoroethyl methacrylate)] (PMMA-b-PTFMA), was synthesized via RAFT polymerization and was used to fabricate a healable superhydrophobic layer on cotton fabric surfaces via a mist treatment using an ...

Polyethylenimine-Containing Cotton Fabrics

Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1975
Abstract Polyethylenimine-containing cotton fabrics were prepared by reaction of 1-epoxyethyl-3, 4-epoxycyclohexane with cotton fabric impregnated with polyethylenimine of a moderately high molecular weight. Fabrics with a high unremovable polyethylenimine content and with a different degree of cross-linking were obtained.

Nanosilver Functionalized Cotton Fabric

Textile Research Journal, 2007
The influence of reactive dyes with massive chromogene and nanosilver on ultraviolet protective factor (UPF) values of lightweight cotton fabrics was investigated. The effect of nanosilver on the color of cotton fabrics and on antibacterial effectiveness was also determined.

Self-cleaning, stain-resistant and anti-bacterial superhydrophobic cotton fabric prepared by simple immersion technique.

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2019
In this paper, superhydrophobicity of cotton fabric was produced by simple immersion method in non-fluorinated hexadecyltrimethoxysilane solution. Modified cotton fabric showed repellency to water and liquids with surface tension of more than 47 mN/m ...
