Triarylmethane Dyes for Artificial Repellent Cotton Fibers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2017
AbstractFamilies of new hydrophobic and/or oleophobic triarylmethane dyes possessing long hydrocarbon or polyfluorinated chains have been prepared. When covalently grafted on to cotton fabric, these dyes give rise to a new type of colored superhydrophobic fibers.

Developmental and hormonal regulation of fiber quality in two natural-colored cotton cultivars

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2017
: Cotton cultivars with brown (Xiangcaimian 2), green (Wanmian 39) and white (Sumian 9) fiber were investigated to study fiber developmental characteristics of natural-colored cotton and the effect of hormones on fiber quality at different stages after ...

PRODUCER RETURNS FROM COTTON STRENGTH AND UNIFORMITY: AN HEDONIC PRICE APPROACH [PDF]

open access: yes
Implicit (hedonic) producer prices for fiber strength uniformity were estimated for the southwest U.S. cotton market using seemingly unrelated regression and market sales data from 1983/84 and 1984/85, Fiber strength and length uniformity had significant

Microscopic Structure of the Cotton Fiber

open access: yesTextile Research, 1941
During the examination of cotton fibers that had received vari ous chemical treatments, a number of observations pertaining to the structural details of the fiber were made. Those phenomena which appeared to be new were investigated in detail. In addition, experiments described by earlier investigators were repeated in order to have a better composite

HEDONIC PRICE ESTIMATION FOR COMMODITIES: AN APPLICATION TO COTTON [PDF]

open access: yes
A model of hedonic prices – implicit prices of embodied quality attributes – was developed for cotton lint and the relative importance of various quality attributes were estimated with regression analysis from sample data on observed sales of cotton ...

Impacts of Multi-Fiber Arrangement Removal on Global Textile and Cotton Trade [PDF]

open access: yes
Textiles and apparel trade has been governed by the Multi-Fiber Arrangement (MFA) for three decades. Trade restrictions have generated substantial welfare losses and price wedges in exporting and importing countries through trade distortions.

Specific surface area of some standard cotton fiber and its relation to physical properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The specific surface area of 6 ICCS fibers, B-26, C-36, D-5, E-4, G-17 and I-26 was measured by means of methylene blue adsorption in liquid phase. The adsorption isotherm was hold at 25(C and during 24 hours.
