Development and Reproduction of Nesidiocoris tenuis Reuter (Heteroptera: Miridae): The Effect of Temperature, Origin and Food

Nymphal development took longer at 25°C than 30°C, and the Greek N. tenuis population developed more slowly than the commercial population. Nymphs clearly preferred E. kuehniella eggs over Artemia sp. cysts when both were offered equally. Egg production increased at 30°C, while female longevity declined.

A New Experimental Setup to Study the Olfactory Behaviour of Trichogramma Egg Parasitoids

We developed an experimental setup to assess odor‐induced egg‐laying behavior in tiny egg‐parasitoid wasps. This Y‐shaped olfactometer, coupled with an AI‐based image‐recognition model, automatically quantifies egg parasitism by Trichogramma wasps. Olfactory‐driven egg‐laying preferences were analyzed using Bayesian inference.

Using a Generic Blend of Pheromones to Simultaneously Attract a Diversity of Elaterid Beetle Species Native to Eastern North America

We assessed attraction of eight elaterid species to a “generic” pheromone blend containing their eight known pheromones or sex attractants. All eight species were attracted by their specific attractants, as expected. Spodoptera litura neonates showed increased movement on Bt‐expressing Bollgard 3 (BG) cotton leaf discs but did not initially avoid it. Survival was higher when larvae could move from BG3 to non‐Bt leaf discs. On whole plants, more larvae dispersed from hatching on BG3 cotton compared to non‐Bt cotton.
