Survey of the Effect of Different Irrigation Levels on Yield and Yield Components of Sensitive and Tolerant Cotton Cultivars

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2017
Introduction: More plains of Iran are located in arid and semi-arid regions and so agricultural production systems depend heavily on water. Recently, the reduction of water resources has become a serious threat for crop production such as cotton planting.

Cotton Yield Prediction Using Random Forest

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
The cotton industry in the United States is committed to sustainable production practices that minimize water, land, and energy use while improving soil health and cotton output. Climate-smart agricultural technologies are being developed to boost yields while decreasing operating expenses. Crop yield prediction, on the other hand, is difficult because

AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY AND COTTON YIELD

open access: yes, 2023
In the conducted field experiment, three different densities of cotton bushes (80, 100 and 120,000 per 1 ha, as well as 7.2, 9.0 and 10.8 plants per 1 running meter, respectively), two types of irrigation depending on the limited field moisture. the power of the soil (NPK) regime (70-70-60 and 75-75-60%, as well as the irrigation regime 2-3-0 and 2-4-0,

Sustainable weed management programme for rainfed cotton based cropping system

open access: yesMadras Agricultural Journal, 2001
Field experiments were conducted for two seasons (September '97 to April '98 and October 98 to May '99) at Fredrick Institute of Plant Protection and Toxicology (FIPPAT), Padappai, to develop a sustainable weed management programme in rainfed cotton ...

Cotton Crop Yield in Relation to Application of Fertilizers [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1949
IT is unfortunate that efforts to study the effect of various fertilizers on the cotton yield in Egypt have led to contradictory results. Thus Hughes1, Prescott2, and Khalil and co-workers3 have reported that manuring has very little or no effect on the yield of cotton crop, while Mahmoud and Crowther4,5,6 have shown that cotton produces better yield ...

DEEP THINNING AND COTTON YIELD

open access: yes, 2022
But in practice, cotton farmers have adopted the belief that "the more cultivation (cultivation, chiseling) is done between the rows of cotton, the better", so the deep softening of the rows continues even during the flowering period of cotton. Therefore, in our research in the following years, we studied the optimal number and duration of drawing ...

De novo synthesis of short‐chain aldehydes and hydrocarbons secreted by the brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys, mainly secretes 4‐oxo‐(E)‐2‐hexenal, (E)‐2‐decenal, dodecane and tridecane, a mixture representative of that released by many heteropterans. We demonstrated that H. halys can synthesise these secretory components de novo using dietary glucose.

The C‐terminal truncated splicing variant of NK1R negatively modulates substance P‐stimulated NK1R signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The neurokinin 1 receptor exists as full‐length (NK1L) and C‐terminally truncated (NK1S) splice variants. We show that NK1S heterodimerizes with NK1L, impairing Gαq coupling and Ca2+ mobilization while enhancing β‐arrestin1 recruitment. NK1S suppresses substance P‐driven gene expression and cell migration, revealing NK1S as an endogenous biased ...
