1. The neurosecretory cells of Coturnix coturnix japonica occur in two areas, the supraoptic nucleus and the paraventricular nucleus. These nuclear areas consist of a series of extended groups of cells (divisions) that are interconnected through irregular chains of neurosecretory cells.
