Interfacial area in gas–liquid Couette–Taylor flow reactor
Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2004Abstract In this study the specific interfacial area (gas–liquid) generated within a stirred tank and Couette–Taylor–Poiseuille flow (CTPF) reactor was determined for a range rotational speeds, and gas and liquid volumetric flow rates. The specific interfacial area was obtained experimentally using the oxidation sodium dithionite in alkaline solution.

Extended local balance model of turbulence and Couette-Taylor flow
Physical Review E, 2000An extended local balance model of turbulence, based on a new transport equation for the dissipation rate with a negative diffusion coefficient, is presented. Analytical solutions for the mean velocity and the dissipation rate for the turbulent Couette-Taylor problem are derived. The dependence of torque on the Reynolds number is obtained.
