Taylor-Couette flow in the annulus was investigated by numerical simulation. The stability of Taylor-Couette flow and its heat transfer process of four different models were studied.

Taylor–Couette flow for astrophysical purposes
A concise review is given of astrophysically motivated experimental and theoretical research on Taylor–Couette flow. The flows of interest rotate differentially with the inner cylinder faster than the outer, but are linearly stable against Rayleigh’s inviscid centrifugal instability.

Some analytical solutions for flows of Casson fluid with slip boundary conditions
In the present paper, we have studied three fundamental flows namely Couette, Poiseuille and generalized Couette flows of an incompressible Casson fluid between parallel plates using slip boundary conditions.

A note on the slip effects of an Oldroyd 6-constant fluid: Optimal homotopy asymptotic method
We study here the effectiveness of the optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM) in solving non-linear differential equations of non-Newtonian fluids. To this consequence, we consider the Oldroyd 6-constant fluid when it demonstrates slippage between the

Stochastic Micromodel of the Couette Flow [PDF]
We study Markov exclusion process for a particle system with a local interaction in the integer strip. This process models the exchange of velocities and particle-hole exchange of the liquid molecules. It is shown that the mean velocity profile corresponds to the behaviour which is characteristic for incompressible viscous liquid.

Intensification of Heat Sterilization Process for Liquid Foods using Taylor-Couette Flow System
Heat sterilization are widely used in almost all food manufacturing areas. For heat sterilization of liquid foods which has high viscosity and shear-thinning property, Taylor-Couette (TC) flow system having two coaxial cylinders is applied in this study,

Routes to turbulence in Taylor–Couette flow
Fluid flows between rotating concentric cylinders exhibit two distinct routes to turbulence. In flows dominated by inner-cylinder rotation, a sequence of linear instabilities leads to temporally chaotic dynamics as the rotation speed is increased. The resulting flow patterns occupy the whole system and sequentially lose spatial symmetry and coherence ...

Characterization of Effective Diffusion within Viscoelastic Fluids with Elastic Instabilities
We considered effective diffusion, characterized by magnitudes of effective diffusion coefficients, in order to quantify mass transport due to the onset and development of elastic instabilities.

A Numerical Study of Particle Migration and Sedimentation in Viscoelastic Couette Flow
In this work, a systematic investigation of the migration of sedimenting particles in a viscoelastic Couette flow is presented, using finite element 3D simulations.

Transient turbulence in Taylor-Couette flow [PDF]
Recent studies have brought into question the view that at sufficiently high Reynolds number turbulence is an asymptotic state. We present the first direct observation of the decay of turbulent states in Taylor-Couette flow with lifetimes spanning five orders of magnitude. We also show that there is a regime where Taylor-Couette flow shares many of the
