This study investigates entropy production in transient hydromagnetic laminar flow through a vertical channel embedded in a porous channel with temperature‐dependent properties under Newtonian cooling. Increasing magnetic field strength reduces velocity, temperature, and entropy production, enhancing thermodynamic performance.

On Rayleigh’s Stability Criterion for Couette Flow
Abstract The stability problem of a stationary circular flow of an ideal fluid between two coaxial cylinders is considered. It is shown that Rayleigh's circulation criterion is necessary and sufficient for the total kinetic energy of an axisymmetric disturbance to be bounded in time.
