Miniaturized Magnetic Tip Design for Endoluminal Vine Robot Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A magnetic tip mount is designed for a miniaturized 7 mm soft‐growing vine robot to enable wireless magnetic steering and onboard imaging, while preserving a 3 mm working channel. The internal–external ring magnets design balances magnetic attachment with low eversion pressure. Experiments demonstrate ±90° steering, 34 mm bending radius, and successful

Numerical Simulation of the Influence of the Baihetan Reservoir Impoundment on Regional Seismicity

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The Baihetan Reservoir is built for hydropower in China. The rise of the reservoir water leads to a series of earthquakes in the surrounding area. This study proposes fully coupled equations of pore-viscoelasticity and a parallel partition mesh model to ...

Centrifugal loading finite element method for slope stability under damage-seepage coupling effect

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2019
An elasto-plastic damage seepage coupling model for rock based on the Mohr-Coulomb criterion is established to analyze slope stability. The stress return method in the principal stress space is given for the Mohr-Coulomb criterion under damage effect to ...

A Bifunctional T3SS‐Effector Simultaneously Cleaves Host MAP Kinase and Inhibits PPM1A Phosphatase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pathogenic bacteria exploit the metalloprotease effector NleD to subvert host defenses. Structural, biochemical, and infection analyses reveal a bifunctional mechanism by which NleD binds and inhibits the host phosphatase PPM1A while preserving its proteolytic activity against MAPKs.

Optimal mud pressure design using nonlinear failure criteria for wellbores in shaley sedimentary reservoir

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering
Wellbore drilling disturbs the equilibrium stress state in the rock mass, resulting in stress redistribution around the opening. Wellbore stability in the altered stress state is vital for engineering applications, as the wellbore instability results in ...
