Miniaturized Magnetic Tip Design for Endoluminal Vine Robot Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A magnetic tip mount is designed for a miniaturized 7 mm soft‐growing vine robot to enable wireless magnetic steering and onboard imaging, while preserving a 3 mm working channel. The internal–external ring magnets design balances magnetic attachment with low eversion pressure. Experiments demonstrate ±90° steering, 34 mm bending radius, and successful

The Deformation Response of Hydrological Loading Due To Water Level Changes in Qinghai Lake

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Over the past 18 years, the water level of Qinghai Lake has risen by more than 4 m, resulting in a total mass increase of approximately 22 Gt. This increase may have impacted the surface deformation and fault activity within a 100 km radius of the lake ...

InSAR Reveals Coseismic Deformation and Coulomb Stress Changes of the 2025 Tingri Earthquake: Implications for Regional Hazard Assessment

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information
Normal faults play a key role in accommodating extensional deformation within the South Tibet Rift. The MS 6.8 Tingri earthquake of 7 January 2025 therefore provides a rare opportunity to investigate how these normal faults accommodate east–west ...

A Bifunctional T3SS‐Effector Simultaneously Cleaves Host MAP Kinase and Inhibits PPM1A Phosphatase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pathogenic bacteria exploit the metalloprotease effector NleD to subvert host defenses. Structural, biochemical, and infection analyses reveal a bifunctional mechanism by which NleD binds and inhibits the host phosphatase PPM1A while preserving its proteolytic activity against MAPKs.

Shear modulus of neutron star crust

open access: yes, 2011
Shear modulus of solid neutron star crust is calculated by thermodynamic perturbation theory taking into account ion motion. At given density the crust is modelled as a body-centered cubic Coulomb crystal of fully ionized atomic nuclei of one type with ...

Ga Doping Enables Precision Alloy‐to‐Wire Regulation: Synergistic Enhancement of the Mechanical Properties of CuSn Alloy and the Superconducting Properties of Nb3Sn

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By adjusting Ga's doping in Cu–Sn alloy, an ultra‐high elongation of 100.8% is achieved in first time. Ga forms a stable solid solution structure and a stronger electron exchange with Cu. This enhances strength‐ductility synergistically by tuning SFE to balance twinning and slip.

Coulomb stress evolution along the Kongur Extensional System since 1895 and present seismic hazard

open access: yesGeodesy and Geodynamics, 2019
The present-day tectonic activities on the northeastern margin of the Pamir Plateau are mainly E-W oriented extensions, among which the Kongur Extensional System (KES) plays an important role in the internal expansion of the Pamir.

Space observation and Coulomb Stress Change Modelling: application to the Izmit earthquake

open access: yes, 2017
In 1999, the Izmit Earthquake struck Istanbul and its surroundings in northwest Turkey. It was one of the most devastating earthquakes of the twentieth century, significantly impacting on 20 million inhabitants and nearly half of the country’s industry.
