Lunar effects in the counter electrojet near the magnetic equator
Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 1974Abstract The examination of H magnetograms of Huancayo for the period, 1948–1971, has shown that the negative effects on the daily variation of H occur primarily in the morning hours around 07 hr and in the evening between 15 and 17 hr. The occurrence of the evening event is maximum around lunar ages 1.4 and 13.4 hr or around lunar times 2.2 and ...

Ionospheric VHF scattering near the magnetic equator during partial counter electrojet
Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 1975During periods of partial counter electrojet, i.e. when ΔH at an equatorial station is positive but lees than ΔH at a non-equatorial low latitude station, the scatter echoes of VHP radio wares from the E-region of the ionosphere are shown to disappear.

The Seasonal Dependence of the Unexpected Afternoon Westward Equatorial Electrojet During Quiet Time
Journal of Geophysical Research: Space PhysicsThe equatorial electrojet is a strong ionospheric current along the dip equator at 110 km. It usually flows eastward and peaks at noon. However, it sometimes reverses westward.
