The Influence of Hydrocarbon Additives on Laminar Burning Velocity and NOx Emissions in Hydrogen‐Air Combustion

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 25, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Hydrogen is a promising carbon‐free fuel but faces challenges due to combustion instability and nitrogen oxide (NOx${\rm NO}_x$) emissions during combustion. This study investigates the potential of blending hydrocarbons (methane, propane) or ammonia with hydrogen‐air flames in order to minimize these challenges.

Insight Into Puncture‐Induced Thermal Runaway in Lithium‐Ion Batteries to Reduce Fire Risks in Electric Vehicle Collisions

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 4, Issue 6, November 2025.
This review examines nail penetration‐induced thermal runaway (TR) in lithium‐ion batteries, analyzing experimental and modeling studies on critical factors—battery materials, nail properties, state of charge, and penetration dynamics. It also explores internal short‐circuit modes, TR severity, and safety solutions such as advanced separators, non ...

Combining Partial Hydrogenation of Soybean‐Derived Biodiesel and Methoxycarbonylation Using a Single Palladium Source

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 127, Issue 11, November 2025.
Soybean‐derived biodiesel was upgraded via a tandem one‐pot process, combining selective partial hydrogenation and isomerizing methoxycarbonylation using a single palladium source. This integrated approach streamlines pretreatment and functionalization, efficiently converting polyunsaturated FAME into linear C19‐diester with high selectivity.

Ab Initio Study of the Gas‐ and Liquid‐Phase Hydrogen Abstraction From Dimethyl‐, Diethyl‐, and Ethyl–Methyl Carbonates by Ḣ${\dot{\mathrm{H}}} $ and Ċ${\dot{\mathrm{C}}} $ H3 and Subsequent Reactions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Kinetics, Volume 57, Issue 11, Page 652-661, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Dimethyl‐, diethyl, and ethyl–methyl carbonate are important components of lithium batteries. They are used as solvents and comprise the medium through which the lithium ions move between the anode and the cathode during charge and discharge. However, these species are susceptible to decomposition if thermal runaway occurs, forming flammable ...

Numerical study on stretch extinction mechanism of NH3/H2/air laminar counterflow premixed flames

open access: yesFuel Processing Technology
Ammonia and hydrogen are two most promising carbon-free fuels emerging in recent years, and their co-combustion is well recognized as an efficient approach to solve the issues associated with ammonia's poor combustion behaviors.

Mechanistic Insights Into the Methoxycarbonylation of Technical Grade Oleochemicals: Catalytical and Structural Analysis of Conjugated Fatty Acid Methyl Esters

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 127, Issue 7, July 2025.
In this study, the inhibitory effect of PU‐FAME on methoxycarbonylation was analyzed. It could be shown that conjugated FAME products in particular are responsible for the observed inhibition. ABSTRACT This study examines the valorization of vegetable oils through Pd‐catalyzed methoxycarbonylation.

Sustainable Thermal Solutions: Enhancing Heat Transfer with Turbulators and Nanofluids

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Nanofluids, which are nanoparticle suspensions in base fluid, facilitate heat transmission due to their improved thermal conductivity. Turbulators, which are inserts into fluid flow channels, disturb the flow, increasing turbulence and hence the heat transfer rate.

Rongbei Maimendong Decoction Promotes Radiosensitivity of Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer Cells by Inhibiting SOD1 Expression

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Some natural remedies in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) inhibit tumor progression and increase sensitivity in the treatment of patients who have received radiation therapy. However, the specific synergistic effect of the active ingredients in the traditional Chinese therapeutic Rongbei Maimendong decoction (RBMD) on sensitivity to radiation therapy
