Jump Performance Enhancement Induced by Countermovement

2015
The execution of a countermovement prior to the main movement, during which the agonist muscles experience a stretch–shortening cycle (shortening after being lengthened) enhances the exercise performance outcome (countermovement effect). During the stretch–shortening cycle, the fascicles and tendons exhibit a unique behavior; much of the length changes

Biomechanical Characteristics of the Countermovement Jump

2019
The countermovement jump is the closest to natural human movement among all biomechanical types of jumps and involves the movement of the whole body. Jump height is understood as a maximal lift of the jumping person’s general centre of gravity in the flight phase with respect to the baseline position at the moment of take-off.

The countermovement jump to monitor neuromuscular status: A meta-analysis

Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, 2017
The primary objective of this meta-analysis was to compare countermovement jump (CMJ) performance in studies that reported the highest value as opposed to average value for the purposes of monitoring neuromuscular status (i.e., fatigue and supercompensation).

Automatic Muscle Activity Onset Determination in Countermovement Jump

2010
Aim of this research was to find a method (and its parameters) that would allow for correct and automatic determination of muscle onset and offset while performing countermovement jump movements thus enabling further analysis of these movements. Surface electromyographic signals of leg muscles were recorded on both legs as 25 professional handball ...
