THE EXPERIENCE OF ENHANCED EXTERNAL COUNTERPULSATION USING HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE COMPLEX “CARDIOPULSAR” IN PATIENTS WITH WIDESPREAD ATHEROSCLEROSIS OF VARIOUS LOCATION

open access: yesНеотложная медицинская помощь, 2017
The article describes the experience of using enhanced external counterpulsation as one of circulatory support methods. Main indications for the procedure of non-invasive counterpulsation are briefly discussed.

The Hidden Vulnerability: How Underlying SMA Stenosis Turns Routine Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Support Into Fatal Mesenteric Ischemia. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Crit Care
Intra‐aortic balloon pump (IABP) therapy is a widely used mechanical circulatory support device for patients with cardiogenic shock. Although generally safe, IABP insertion can lead to serious complications, including the rare but potentially fatal development of mesenteric ischemia. We report a 58‐year‐old female smoker who presented with ST‐elevation

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome Presenting With Recurrent Syncope After Cervical Spinal Cord Injury. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT Syncope is a manifestation of autonomic dysfunction after high spinal cord injury. However, it is rarely reported as a feature of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) after spinal cord injury. This case report describes a male in his 50s suffering from C2 spinal cord injury who developed recurrent postural syncope post‐injury ...

Development of a Self-Deploying Extra-Aortic Compression Device for Medium-Term Hemodynamic Stabilization: A Feasibility Study. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
A proof‐of‐concept device designed for minimally invasive, medium‐term hemodynamic support is developed. Utilizing a growing mechanism, the device autonomously wraps around the aorta and employs soft artificial muscles to deliver extra‐aortic compression.

The assessment bioenergy of cardiac contraction in the conditions of mechanical support circulation

open access: yesВестник трансплантологии и искусственных органов, 2019
Aim: to develop a new modified index for the assessment of bioenergy heart in conditions of heart failure. To assess the energy of the heart when using systems to bypass the left ventricle of the heart using non-pulsed flow pumps.

The hemodynamics of counterpulsation

open access: yesThe Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 1966
Summary and conclusions 1. Synchronized counterpulsation was applied to two groups of 9 dogs with the use of a new fluid-coupled pulse generator. Multiple measurements were made of central (cardiac) and peripheral hemodynamics. 2. The counterpulsation pump performance was superior to pneumatically coupled systems previously studied.

Surgical management of a type A aortic dissection in a pregnant patient

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 11, Issue 9, September 2023., 2023
An initial CT demonstrating a Stanford type A aortic dissection in a pregnant patient. Key Clinical Message Despite emphasis for emergent surgical treatment of Stanford type A aortic dissections, pregnant patients that are clinically stable may safely receive a staged approach instead, with delivery followed by delayed dissection repair.
