Radioiodinated lipoproteins: absorption of 125I radioactivity by high density solutions.
Concentrations of potassium bromide commonly used for separation of lipoproteins were shown to cause absorption of 125I and thus reduce the counting efficiency of the labeled lipoproteins.

Index for Counting the Shortest Cycle Based on Strongly Connected Components [PDF]
The shortest cycle counting is a basic pattern of graph analysis. The shortest cycle counting through a certain vertex refers to the number of shortest cycles passing through the vertex. In real life, the shortest cycle counting has a wide range of ...

Efficiency limits for linear optical processing of single photons and single-rail qubits [PDF]
We analyze the problem of increasing the efficiency of single-photon sources or single-rail photonic qubits via linear optical processing and destructive conditional measurements.

Discrete symmetries and efficient counting of operators
Abstract We present DECO (“Discrete and Efficient Counting of Operators”), an implementation of the Hilbert series to enumerate subleading operator bases for SMEFT-like EFTs with symmetry groups as typically found in flavour and BSM physics.

Particle and Photon Detection: Counting and Energy Measurement
Fundamental limits for photon counting and photon energy measurement are reviewed for CCD and CMOS imagers. The challenges to extend photon counting into the visible/nIR wavelengths and achieve energy measurement in the UV with specific read noise ...

Time-domain based evaluation of detection efficiency in liquid scintillation counting
This work explores the distribution of time intervals between signals from the photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) of a liquid scintillation counting (LSC) system when a scintillation burst caused by an ionizing particle is detected. This distribution is termed

A Tea Buds Counting Method Based on YOLOv5 and Kalman Filter Tracking Algorithm
The tea yield estimation provides information support for the harvest time and amount and serves as a decision-making basis for farmer management and picking. However, the manual counting of tea buds is troublesome and inefficient.

Efficient estimation of eigenvalue counts in an interval [PDF]
SummaryEstimating the number of eigenvalues located in a given interval of a large sparse Hermitian matrix is an important problem in certain applications, and it is a prerequisite of eigensolvers based on a divide‐and‐conquer paradigm. Often, an exact count is not necessary, and methods based on stochastic estimates can be utilized to yield rough ...

Efficient Batch Dynamic Graphlet Counting
Graphlet counting is an important problem as it has numerous applications in several fields, including social network analysis, biological network analysis, transaction network analysis, etc. Most of the practical networks are dynamic. A graphlet is a subgraph with a fixed number of vertices and can be induced or non-induced.
