The properties of multiple coupled line structures are reviewed for applications in microwave circuits. In order to demonstrate the applications of the coupled line multiports, some representative examples are given. These include the application of the multiple coupled line theory in the analysis and design of components such as a spiral inductor, a ...

Coupled Line Equations with Random Coupling
Bell System Technical Journal, 1972The coupled line equations for two modes traveling in the same direction are considered. The covariances of the mode transfer functions are calculated in the case of random coupling. Exact results are obtained when the coupling is a function of a finite state Markov chain, and also when the coupling is white noise.

Broadside CPW coupled-line balun
TENCON 2007 - 2007 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2007This paper presents a practical and simple CPW broadside coupled-line balun with multi-layers profile microstrip line and broadside coupling structure to enhance the coupled coefficient and balanced output bandwidth. Designed broadside CPW coupled-line balun design with a symmetric quarter wavelength coupled-line is developed to increase wider ...

Coupled‐line 180° hybrid coupler
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2005AbstractA new 180° hybrid‐coupler structure based on coupled lines is proposed. It consists of two quarter‐wave coupled‐line sections and one half‐wave transmission‐line section. The coupled outputs are always in phase with the input signal for all ports, and the through or direct outputs are either in phase or out of phase from the input signal ...

Microstrip Ferrite Coupled Line Isolators
2006 International Conference on Microwaves, Radar & Wireless Communications, 2006The double isolators using sections of ferrite coupled microstrip lines are demonstrated in a layered and planar approaches. The configurations are investigated both theoretically and experimentally at the frequency range 8-15 GHz. The better performances are observed for planar configuration that reports reflection losses -15 dB, isolation better than

Coupled-Line Filter with Folded Corners
2007 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, 2007Two coupled lines with different spacing can be combined as a new configuration with folded corners. In a two-stage half-wavelength resonators filter, the couplings using this configuration can be controlled to provide the required coupling for the fundamental passband, and a transmission zero at the second spurious harmonic frequency.

The quarter wave meander-folded coupler is a compact device useful for frequencies up to a few gigahertz. The folding is shown to shorten the electric length of the coupler and a theory is presented for the calculation of this shortening effect. The theory shows that the even-mode circuit is shortened to a higher extent than the odd-mode circuit which ...

Exponential coupled lines band-pass filter
2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI), 2017In this paper, a theoretical analysis and design are presented of exponential coupled line, which operates as a wide band pass filter. The frequency response of the filter are verified by using a technique based on an artificial neural network and simulated by using CST STUDIO software. Simulation and Artificial neural network results show the proposed

Inhomogeneous Coupled-Line Filters
S-MTT International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1974Experimental and Theoretical results are presented demonstrating some novel properties of inhomogeneous coupled-line structures having large even-odd mode velocity ratios, e.g., a single inhomogeneous coupled-line filter section with an equiripple, 3-peak stopband response.

Development of ferrite coupled lines gyrator
14th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications. MIKON - 2002. Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat.No.02EX562), 2003New gyrators based on a ferrite coupled line section (FCL) are developed and investigated. The scattering parameters are calculated for microstrip and slot-line configurations providing the practical information for design of these components. As an example, an isolator using the microstrip gyrator is designed and its scattering characteristics are ...
