Vernier effect using in-line highly coupled multicore fibers

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
We demonstrate optical fiber sensors based on highly coupled multicore fibers operating with the optical Vernier effect. The sensors are constructed using a simple device incorporating single-mode fibers (SMFs) and a segment of a multicore fiber.

Dual-Frequency Impedance Transformer Using Coupled-Line For Ultra-High Transforming Ratio [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2017
In this paper, a new type of dual-frequency impedance transformer is presented for ultra-high transforming ratio. The proposed configuration consists of parallel coupled-line, series transmission lines and short-ended stubs.

Synthesis and Design of Highly Selective Multi-Mode Dual-Band Bandstop Filter

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper presents the synthesis and design of the multi-mode dual-band bandstop filter (MM-DBBSF). A highly selective multi-mode dual-band bandstop response is obtained using a quarter wavelength coupled line structure.

High Performance Asymmetric Coupled Line Balun at Sub-THz Frequency

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, we report a high-performance balun with characteristics suitable for future broadband sub-THz differential circuits. The idea of the balun is based on three asymmetric coupled lines, which enhance the odd mode capacitances to equalize the ...

Dual-band filtering power divider with capacitor-loaded centrally coupled-line resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, a dual-band filtering power divider (DB-FPD) with capacitor-loaded centrally coupled-line resonators (CLCCLRs) is presented. The proposed design utilizes four CLCCLRs, two resistors and one inductor to achieve the dual functions of dual ...

Effects of water depth, mooring line diameter and hydrodynamic coefficients on the behaviour of deepwater FPSOs

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2020
Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platforms are the most used floating structures in the offshore oil and gas industry. They are generally kept in place with the aid of mooring lines anchored to the seabed.

Channel-dropping coupled-line filter

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1973
A novel type of channel-dropping filter, constructed in a rectangular dielectric waveguide, is described. The basis of the device is the linear frequency dependence of the coupling coefficient between two identical rods of certain dimensions. An experimental 4-channel filter in the 30–40 GHz band gives losses comparable with those of metal-waveguide ...
